I feel incredibly honored to have been hired by Portman Holdings to create a permanent piece of interactive art for their beautiful lobby known as The Passage at The Line.
TRANSFORMED features my floral and abstract painting translated onto giant, stainless steel butterfly wings thanks to @boingographics
I painted flowers in the wings to remind us of growth while being “rooted” in history. Stainless steel was used for the wings as a nod to the industrial history in South End. I chose a butterfly for the installation piece which represents the transformation, new growth, development, change and renewal in South End, part of our vibrant city in Charlotte, North Carolina.
